I did not research but from what I know and reading other students publications, colonization has really changed a lot of countries around the world and it has affected Africa most. Child mortality comes from a lot of reason or problems that we are facing in our countries. It can either be high population in one country, poor healthcare facilities, corruption, unwanted pregnancies, low food supply, drought, diseases, the environment we live in and malnutrition, all this do increase the rate of mortality in Africa than any other continents.
I am from Botswana and in my country we rather prefer private clinics than going to the public healthcare centers due to poor services, less stuff to help all the people looking for assistance and in some rural areas we face shortage of medication hence people going back home with sick babies who did not get hep well in time and some never make it. If we look at central Africa countries there always face shortage of food, new born never get the right injections for their health while growing due to shortage of medication and poor government systems and also having to buy the injection and finding out that parent has less income to do that unlike if having to offer medication freely.
Young girls get pregnant and end up dumping their children on the streets, due to abusive parents, partners and income, unemployment, and those children never make it unless found early before they die of hunger, corruption in many African countries slowing down the development of the economy, the environment we living in, children can die of malaria, being killed by animals, climatic conditions leading to floods, drought, famine, diseases affecting livestock's and abusive parents, rape and all this is all heart breaking yet their countries out there which have solutions to ending this unpleasant situation, I for all would really want to make a difference because the future holds most horrifying situations if we can not do something about the current one.
A lot are changing but are we doing enough?
