Be Positive and Stay Positive


COVID-19 has definitely impacted all our lives in several ways. It continues to negatively impact our personalities, behaviour, style of life and motivation, however, the crisis behind the pandemic was even bigger. Many have lost their lives, which was mainly caused by other people’s irresponsibility. Limited access to healthcare and healthy food along with psychological illnesses such as depression and many others were things that many of us suffered from.


Despite all of these negative aspects, COVID-19 has also had a very positive impact on us. People’s beliefs, lifestyle, thoughts, diets, and many other things have changed partially, if not completely . During this post, I will be sharing some points that reflect my point of view over some effects of this pandemic:

  1. On social media ,we started seeing famous people encouraging their followers to explore new hobbies in order to alleviate stress and stay healthy. Some things people picked up include handicrafts, sports, cooking, and challenges.

  2. People started switching to using online services: online classes, online shopping, and online payments. This brought to our realization the potential of technology and how it can be used for school as well as work. Most of all, it helped us understand that we are capable of implementing a virtual model in our lives.

  3. This pandemic has encouraged us to strengthen our relationships with family members and pushed us to spend more time with our parents, brothers, and sisters.

  4. Social distancing has greatly impacted our society, however, it helped us become more aware of the vast amount of bacteria we collect during the day.

  5. While being confined at home, some people may have viewed this as if the world was limiting their freedom ,whereas others perceived this as a second chance that the world has given us to think about how we want to spend the rest of our lives and take time to appreciate the smaller things in the world. Most importantly, it is a time for us to understand that no matter what, there will always be a way to view our situation through a positive lens and be hopeful for everything to get better soon.

That’s why we sometimes need to see the bright side of things. If we look around us, we will notice that everything has both a good and a bad side just like how everyone has different sides to them. So why not just stay positive and accept things around us?


The questions that may still remain are: Do we see things negatively just because other people do? Or is it because we all think the same way? So why don’t we always think of the bright side of things and stay positive?
